My realistic New Year resolutions.

Published on 4 January 2025 at 15:48

Starting a New year can be intimidating. If you're anything like me you always think of everything you should have done before the last year ended. This year is going to be different, I'm creating a set of reasonable resolutions that will help me achieve as much as I possibly can this year. My resolutions are going to be attainable enough that I will not to get off track. Follow me in setting realistic New Year resolutions that are well achievable enough to complete in one year and form good habits to last for more years.

1. Make advancements in my career

One of the top things I am proud of is being a Dental Hygienist and providing quality patient care. I am so thankful that I work at an office that supply's access state of the art technology to give patients modern and through care. That's why this year I want to get laser certified and be able to extend my knowledge in dentistry and my treatment abilities in periodontal therapy.

2. Improve my skin and hair care

I know I have not been the best at taking care of my skin and hair like im supposed to. However, this year I am going to make a priority to take extra good care and exchange a few products/ add a few to really maximize my self care. I am going to limit the use of makeup wipes and use micellar water instead and I definitely will limit the amount of heat on my hair and use heat protectant if I do. One BIG thing i'm going to implement is NO cutting my hair or dying it! we are gonna let her grow!

3. Exercise

Okay, I know what you're thinking "everyone always says they are going to start working out at the new year" but this is just slightly different. I already have been working out 1-2 days (On and Off), All I want to do is add a day and really hold myself accountable this year. I love doing cardio and body weight exercises, another thing I want to include in my work out routine is improving my flexibility.

4. Be more crafty

This christmas I got all the supplies to start making shirt and cup decals. One of the things I want to do this year is make all of my own creations instead of ordering them. I love starting new hobbies but this is definitely more difficult than I expected. All i want to do is get better and limit the amount of money I spend on cute etsy shirts or cups.

5. Save up money

One of my biggest goals since I've graduated college is to save up money and get all my student loans paid off. I don't expect to get them all paid off in one year but I definitely want to hold myself accountable and save extra money each month to build up a savings that has enough bulk to make a dent in them. (No more impulsive puppy purchases lol)

At the end of the day resolutions are just goals, attainable or not, an its your responsibility to make them achievable. Sometimes each year the resolutions we expect to achieve are not the ones we do, and that is okay. Completing what you can is sometimes the best you can possibly do. Have a great year!
